Fire Safety Training

Fire safety training is important to any organisation, large or small, and can help to minimise the effects of a fire in the workplace.

All employers have a legal responsibility to train their staff on what to do in the event of fire. More importantly, it is generally accepted that employers have a duty of care to prevent injury to any person or employee and to preserve life.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires employers, building owners and occupiers to have a greater understanding of fire safety and nominate a "responsible person" to ensure compliance.

Effective fire safety training takes time; in order not to disrupt your working day, Detect Fire and Security offers comprehensive fire safety training at your own premises, so your staff is trained in their own familiar environment. This allows you to meet your statutory insurance obligations to protect staff and property under current Health and Safety regulations.

Fire Safety Training: Course Details

Fire safety training is carried out by our fully qualified training staff, and covers all aspects of fire safety:

• Procedure on discovering a fire
• Building evacuation including means of escape
• Duties of the responsible person
• Responsibilities of the fire warden
• Health & Safety legislation
• Use of portable fire extinguishers and hose reels
• Emergency services liaison

Fire safety training also includes a walk round the building to identify escape routes, fire fighting equipment, muster points and emergency services access.

Detect Fire and Security provide fire safety training for groups of twelve and trainees will receive a training certificate to confirm their successful completion of the course. We also have a separate Fire Extinguisher Training course for individuals that do not need the full Fire Safety training.
