Agamemnon Housing Association provide affordable, acceptable, and sensitively managed sheltered housing for people over 60 years of age. They give preference to those who have served in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, QARNNS, WRNS, Army, and RAF and their surviving partners. They also aim to meet the needs of those given priority on housing waiting lists where possible.
In 1933, on the instructions of the Admiralty, a Committee of Ex Naval Officers and Ratings under the Chairmanship of the Commodore, Royal Naval Barracks, Portsmouth formed the Victory Housing Society Limited to provide housing for Naval Ratings and their families.
In 1974 the Agamemnon Housing Association was formed under the same Management Committee and now have six courts located within Portsmouth & Gosport region.
AHA take the safety & security of their residents very seriously, therefore measures for fire safety must be compliant with the latest British & European Standards and AHA insurers requirements with high quality CCTV providing an additional safety and security
In 2013, our Business Development Manager Sam Ellis approached AHA regarding their fire and security arrangements, AHA were using multiple companies for service and did not feel they were receiving the response they needed and questioned the value for money they were getting from their different suppliers.
Following on from a tender process that considered many aspects of the contract AHA chose Detect Fire & Security Ltd as their fully competent and accredited fire & security provider, to carry out the annual servicing and provide 24/7 emergency call out support for the following disciplines;

In 2013, Detect installed a new fire detection system at Cornwell Court and Eliza Mackenzie Court that replaced the old conventional systems, these new systems use the latest analogue addressable technology and were provided with full compliance to BS5839 with BAFE certification.
Detect have built a strong relationship with AHA and attend regular meetings with the CEO to review our services and discuss future projects and service requirements.
